6. Intellectual property
All content on the Site — including text, articles, guides, calculators, quizzes, photographs, illustrations, graphics, logos, and the “Plan Your Homestead” name — is owned by Plan Your Homestead or its licensors and is protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may view, download a single copy, and print Site content solely for your personal, non-commercial reference, provided you keep all copyright and other proprietary notices intact. Any other use — including republication, redistribution, or use in a commercial product — requires our prior written permission. To request permission, email stubblefieldsolutions@gmail.com.

7. Your submissions
The Site does not currently offer user accounts, comments, or public posting. If you choose to send us feedback, suggestions, ideas, or other materials by email or other means (“Submissions”), you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, modify, and incorporate those Submissions for any purpose, without compensation or attribution. Please do not send us anything you consider confidential or proprietary.
8. Third-party links & services
The Site contains links to third-party websites, products, and services that we do not own or control. We provide these links for convenience only and do not endorse, warrant, or assume responsibility for any third-party content, products, or services. Your interactions with third parties are solely between you and them, and are governed by their terms and privacy policies. We encourage you to review those terms before transacting with any third party.
9. Affiliate disclosure
As an Amazon Associate, Plan Your Homestead earns from qualifying purchases. The Site participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and may participate in other affiliate programs. Some links on the Site are affiliate links, meaning that if you click the link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
We only recommend products we genuinely believe will be useful to homesteaders, and affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial judgment. However, you should do your own research before purchasing any product. We are not responsible for the quality, safety, or fitness of products sold by third parties.
10. Advertising disclosure
The Site displays advertising served by Google AdSense and may display advertising from other third-party ad networks. Advertisements are clearly identifiable as such and do not constitute endorsements by Plan Your Homestead. We do not control the specific ads shown to you, the products advertised, or the conduct of advertisers. Your interactions with advertisers are solely between you and them.
For details on how cookies and identifiers are used to serve advertising, and how to opt out of personalized ads, see Sections 4 and 5 of our Privacy Policy.
11. No professional advice
The content on the Site is provided for general informational and educational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and you should not rely on it as such. Always seek the advice of a qualified, licensed professional with any questions you may have. Specifically:
- Not medical advice. Articles touching on herbs, foraging, nutrition, or wellness are not medical advice. Consult a licensed physician, registered dietitian, or other qualified healthcare provider before changing your diet, consuming wild plants, or making decisions that affect your health.
- Not veterinary advice. Articles about chickens, livestock, and other animals are not veterinary advice. Consult a licensed veterinarian for the care, diagnosis, or treatment of any animal.
- Not legal advice. Articles discussing zoning, homesteading laws, state-specific regulations, or property rights are general summaries only and may be incomplete or out of date. Laws vary by jurisdiction and change frequently. Consult a licensed attorney in your state for legal advice specific to your situation.
- Not financial advice. Calculators, budgets, and cost estimates on the Site are illustrative only. Actual costs and returns vary widely. Consult a qualified financial professional before making financial decisions.
- Not engineering, electrical, or construction advice. Articles about off-grid power, solar systems, water systems, building, fencing, or other construction topics are general information only. Improperly installed electrical, plumbing, gas, or structural work can cause fire, injury, or death. Hire a licensed, qualified professional and follow all applicable building, electrical, and safety codes.
- Not food-safety or canning authority. Food preservation — including canning, fermenting, smoking, curing, and dehydrating — carries real risks, including botulism and other foodborne illness. Always follow tested recipes and procedures from authoritative sources such as the USDA Complete Guide to Home Canning, the National Center for Home Food Preservation, or your state Cooperative Extension Service. Do not rely on the Site as your sole source.
- Foraging and wild plants. Misidentified plants and mushrooms can cause serious illness or death. Never consume any wild plant or fungus based solely on information from the Site. Confirm identification with multiple authoritative sources and, ideally, an experienced local expert.
The Site may also reference state-specific laws, regulations, climate zones, frost dates, and similar information. This information is summarized from public sources and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. You are responsible for verifying any such information with the relevant government agency or licensed professional before acting on it.
12. Assumption of risk
Homesteading involves activities that can be dangerous, including but not limited to gardening with tools, raising animals, preserving food, working with electricity and fuel, building structures, using firearms, working at heights, working with knives and saws, handling chemicals, and operating heavy equipment. By using information from the Site, you acknowledge and agree that:
- You undertake any activity at your own risk and are solely responsible for your own safety and the safety of others.
- You are responsible for evaluating whether any activity, technique, or recommendation is appropriate for your skill level, equipment, environment, and local conditions.
- You will comply with all applicable laws, regulations, codes, and permitting requirements in your jurisdiction.
- Plan Your Homestead is not responsible for injury, illness, property damage, animal harm, crop loss, financial loss, or any other harm that results from your use of Site content.
13. Disclaimers of warranties
THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
We do not warrant that the Site will be available at all times, that defects will be corrected, or that the Site or its servers are free of viruses or other harmful components. We make no representation that content on the Site is appropriate or available in any particular location.
14. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL PLAN YOUR HOMESTEAD, COLE STUBBLEFIELD, OR ANY OF OUR AFFILIATES, CONTRIBUTORS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, including but not limited to damages for personal injury, illness, lost profits, lost data, business interruption, property damage, harm to animals, crop loss, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Site or any content on it, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Site or these Terms will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100.00).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the limitations above may not apply to you. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
15. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Plan Your Homestead, Cole Stubblefield, and our affiliates and contributors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the Site; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any law or third-party right; or (d) any activity you undertake based on Site content.
16. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including for violation of these Terms. Upon termination, the licenses granted to you in Section 4 will immediately end. Sections 6, 7, and 11 through 19 will survive termination.
17. Governing law & venue
These Terms and your use of the Site are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Tennessee, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. You waive any objection to venue in those courts.
Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive or equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect intellectual-property rights.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we will provide a more prominent notice on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after a change becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Site.
19. Miscellaneous
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Plan Your Homestead concerning the Site and supersede any prior agreements on the same subject.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms is not a waiver of that right or provision.
Assignment. You may not assign these Terms or any rights under them without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms freely, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
No agency. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship between you and Plan Your Homestead.
